One record after the other came plummeting down as Sundowns marched to a near invincible domestic season, while the club continues stamping their footprint on the continental game.
The Brazilians, with two trophies in the bag already in this campaign, are looking to close out their season with a Nedbank Cup final title to add to the AFL and DStv Premiership already secured by the club.
For Motsepe, lifting the inaugural African Football League title in the presence of CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe stands out as the highlight of the club's campaign.
"The highlight was winning the AFL because it was a moment where our club president was watching them play," he told Sundowns' Pitchside Podcast.
"You know the club President doesn't often watch the team play, so in that moment where we could win something in front of him, and I know how much the players want to play and represent and make him proud.
"That moment was really special. It was my highlight," he said.
Motsepe junior also credited club Sporting Director Flemming Berg for the role he played in recruiting a number of top talents to the club's first team this season.
