In addition to receiving a nomination for the world-renowned Yachine award, there has been an update on the fitness of Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana number one, Ronwen Williams.
FIFA confirmed on Wednesday evening that the 32-year-old has been nominated for the Yachine award, the first goalkeeper in history to be nominated for this honour while playing for a club in Africa.
Williams has been absent for the last couple of months owing to injury.
His last competitive action came in Sundowns' Nedbank Cup final loss to Orlando Pirates in June this year, though he is understood to have undergone surgery for a niggling injury since then, which has subsequently seen him miss a large chunk of Sundowns' pre-season, as well as Bafana Bafana's AFCON qualifiers.

But, the latest news on the Gelvandale native is that he could be ready for the start of the campaign.
This is after insiders informed the Siya crew that Williams has returned to full training with Sundowns, and could well be ready for the start of the season as the Brazilians resume their campaign against Mbabane Swallows in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
They begin their Betway Premiership defence against SuperSport United three days later.
This news will come as a boost both for coach Manqoba Mngqithi as well as coach Hugo Broos, whose sides will both be heavily reliant on Williams' services in this campaign.
