With two matches left in the DStv Premiership, Kaizer Chiefs are guaranteed to finish with less points on the table than they did last season with Arthur Zwane at the helm.
Zwane was removed as head coach at the end of last season, as Amakhosi finished in fifth place on 44 points. It was his first and only season in charge at Naturena, before Amakhosi appointed Molefi Ntseki to start the current campaign in the hot seat.

Now, with two matches left to play this season, Amakhosi are set to finish with less points and, possibly, in a lower position on the standings compared to last term.
Currently in eighth place on the standings on 35 points, Amakhosi also look set to end the campaign with less goals scored. They are on 25 goals scored in 28 matches, which is seven less than they netted the whole of last season. They are also just one defeat away from matching the 12 losses of last season, which is their worst record in the PSL era.
Chiefs, who are set to finish the campaign with less victories than they achieved last season, are in action at FNB Stadium this Saturday, as they host Polokwane City who are a place below them, also on 35 points. Chiefs know that they cannot afford to lose because their place in the top eight is nowhere near guaranteed.
City, Golden Arrows, Chippa United, AmaZulu and Moroka Swallows have a mathematical chance of finishing above Chiefs, who have finished outside the top eight on three previous occasions in the PSL era.

Amakhosi are expected to announce the appointment of a new coach in the coming weeks. Whoever takes over the hot seat will have a big job on his hands to make sure the Soweto giants end years of misery.
