With just one victory in 2024 and no sign of improvement, Kaizer Chiefs are heading towards their worst ever season in the Premier Soccer League in terms of points.
Amakhosi slumped to a third straight defeat over the weekend, going down 1-0 to relegation threatened Richards Bay FC away from home.

It was Amakhosi's 10th defeat of the season, which is two less than the 12 they suffered last season under the tutelage of Arthur Zwane.
While Chiefs suffered their most defeats in a season last term under Zwane, their worst campaign in terms of points was in 2020/21. At the end of that season, Chiefs finished with 36 points, but somehow still managed to finish eighth in the Premiership.
As things stand, Amakhosi are on 30 points in 10th place and are at risk of ending the campaign worse off than they did back in 2020/21. With six matches to go in the season, the Soweto giants have to start picking up points to avoid that record low.
Since the inception of the PSL in 1996, Chiefs have finished under 40 points on two occasions. Management will be hoping they do not end the campaign under 40 points for a third time in PSL history.
