Frosler's Amakhosi Future Up For Discussion?

News reaching the Siya crew is that Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be preparing to engage one of the club's defenders regarding his future.

Insiders have revealed that Amakhosi look set to hold talks about securing the future of right back, Reeve Frosler.

The defender has been plagued by injuries in recent times, with indications that the club is keen on rewarding the player with a new deal.

According to Siya sources, discussions look set to take place in the coming weeks.

"For now , it's not a done deal yet. It's a proposal which all the parties have to sit down and talk about. But according to the team management they want to give him another three years which means he will be at the team until 2027 as his current contract ends in June 2025," a source revealed to the Siya crew.

"They believe in him as the ideal right back. It's just unfortunate that he has been out most of the time due to injury but they know his worth and value to the team and that's why they want to keep him for a longer time," the source added.

The 25-year-old former Bafana Bafana star joined Amakhosi from the now-defunct Bidvest Wits in 2019 and signed a five-year contract.

When contacted for comment, Frosler's agent Paul Mitchell of Siyavuma Sports Group was coy with regards to the new deal.

"I am currently not the country and that's why I couldn't answer your call. About the new contract, yeah it runs until around that time but I don't want to comment on that right now," Mitchell said.

Attempts were made by the Siya crew to contact the club, but proved futile at the time of publishing.
