The story
Orlando Pirates defenders, Thabiso Sesane and Thabiso Monyane, are not only key members in Jose Riveiro’s side but also came through the club’s ranks together.
Monyane, who has been on the sidelines for some time now with a recurring hamstring injury, took to Instagram to take a trip down memory lane with Sesane.
The 22-year-old joined the Buccaneers in 2019, with Sesane coming into the fold a year later, and despite the two having two contrasting experiences at the club, they remain as close as ever.
On his way to becoming a regular starter under Riveiro this season, Sesane was loaned out to All Stars & Jomo Cosmos to sharpen his game, with a stint at Pele Pele FC helping him work on his craft further.
Those spells have held Sesane in good stead, having started most of his 29 appearances in all competitions for Pirates before the centre back picked up a season-ending, ruptured tendon injury during Pirates' 2-1 victory over Sekhukhune United in early February.
"When you take care of things, they last. Still going strong, njayam (my friend)," wrote Monyane on IG, where he posted a series of images of him sharing the pitch with Sesane for Ezimnyama Ngenkani.
