TS Galaxy midfielder Nompumelelo "Mpumi" Nyandeni has been crowned the South African Football Journalists' Association Women's Footballer of the Year, earning herself a R15 000 cash prize.
The 35-year-old baller is one of the finest talents in her generation of the women's game and along with the award and prize money, she'll enjoy a one-night stay for two at a classy hotel.

Nyandeni wins big with SAFJA
The 2022 Hollywoodbets Super League top goalscorer received the most votes from SAFJA members to be win the Footballer of the Year award ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies' Boitumelo Rabale, TS Galaxy's Busiswa Ndimeni and the University of Western Cape's ballers, Amogelang Motau and Lonathemba Mhlongo.
As mentioned, Nyandeni's accolade came with a R15 000 cash prize and she also wins a one-night stay for two at a four-star hotel in Sandton, courtesy of Tsogo Sun.

The awards ceremony was held at Tsogo Sun in Hyde Park and Nyandeni's performances for her former club JVW FC were enough to see her go one better than 2021, where she was just nominated for the award.
