Kungwane on AFCON culture exposure
Kasi Flavour10's Kabelo Kungwane made the trip to the football-mad Ivory Coast for this year's AFCON, a journey he described as "amazing".
Kungwane is very passionate about uplifting football culture in not only South Africa, but the rest of the continent and the Ivory Coast proved to be the ideal destination for Kungwane's creative mission.
"Going to the AFCON was actually perfect because you get to see people from different countries in Africa, you exchange your cultures, you go to the stadiums, which were vibrant, like very African," stated Kasi Flavour10's head honcho.
"What I love about it [AFCON's African culture display], from the start of the tournament, was the teams that came in their traditional attires. For me, AFCON is all about that, celebrating our cultures and our identity, having pride in that. It was really dope man, to experience that first hand in the Ivory Coast," he added.
Kungwane made sure to fully immerse himself in Ivory Coast's football culture and conducted a colourful editorial for PUMA's football-inspired kicks, the Palermo.
The campaign for PUMA was centered around the Palermo's and "celebrating African football culture and diversity."
The Ivorian models rocked all the Palermo colourways and were styled in various Kasi Flavour10 items, including an unreleased Ghana jersey from the brand and Ivory Coast's white Away PUMA jersey.

Another one of his shoots with photographer Tora San Traoré saw them merge South African and Ivorian football culture, documenting footballers wearing a popular Ivorian shoe, the Leke, while wearing an all-black Kasi Flavour10 kit.

When asked if he'll be making a similar trip to next year's AFCON in Morocco, Kungwane had this to say:
"Yes, definitely, if Bafana Bafana qualifies, I'll definitely make a similar trip to Morocco. Even if they don't qualify, for me and Kasi Flavour10 it's more about celebrating African football. The style, the culture and the stories. Also with Morocco, it's a dope country that's rich with heritage.
"It'll be a fun AFCON to go to because they [Morocco] haven't won the AFCON since 1976, so yeah, it would be a nice trip. I want to attend all the AFCON's for the rest of my life," he stated.
For the Kasi Flavour10 brand, Kungwane mentioned Aubrey Modiba and Teboho Mokoena as the current Bafana Bafana players he would like to work with.
"He has a good look, he could make a good model for us," he said about Modiba, and also rated Mokoena has the best player in the country at the moment.
