Ian Wright the Buccaneer
The 59-year-old former Arsenal and Crystal Palace striker Ian Wright recounted how he became a Buccaneer in a recently posted SuperSport TV interview.
'Wrighty' as he's affectionately known, was seen in a retro Orlando Pirates jersey on his podcast 'Wrighty's House', which prompted Julia Stuart to ask him if he's a fan of the club.
"I am a Buccaneer! I remember when I was with Happy Jele, Happy man, he's the one who made me say, 'I am supporting you, Happy'," said Wright.
"I saw the game [Saturday's Nedbank Cup Soweto Derby], I saw the highlights of the game, it was a great game. For me, I am a Pirates fan, I am with Pirates forever."
