The story
Mamelodi Sundowns are among four African teams set to compete in the USA for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.
The Brazilians secured their spot in the FIFA Club World Cup through the CAF ranking pathway system, with consistent performances in the CAF Champions League during the four-year qualifying period (2020-24), seeing them reach the quarter-finals and semi-finals twice each, earning them a place in the tournament set to kick-off in June 2025.
As the countdown to the first edition in the United States next year continues, FIFA unveiled the emblem and signature song for the inaugural 32-team FIFA Club World Cup, using DJ Khaled as the face of the release.
The award-winning DJ and producer showed some of his football skills in a promo video shared by the FIFA Club World Cup page, where he builds up the hype for the tournament, shouting out the teams he'll be looking out for in the tournament.
"This will be the greatest club football tournament of all time. It's all happening right here in the USA in 2025. 32 of the best clubs in the world will compete right here to become the first true Club World Cup champion.
"I can't wait to see my boys; Real Madrid, Mamelodi Sundowns, Al-Hilal, Seattle Sounders, Auckland City, and Boca Juniors take it to the world!" said DJ Khaled.
