The story

The Amakhosi brand is one of the strongest in South Africa's sporting industry, with the club hard at work to strengthen it's global appeal.

Earlier this month, Chiefs welcomed Didier Budimbu Ntubuanga, the Minister for Sport of the DRC, who was accompanied by Stadium CEO Mr. Dadou Ethambe, as well as Mr. Etoti Bala Joseph and Ms. Deborah Rosalie Yondela.

As mentioned by the Soweto giants' website, the visit aimed to explore ways to enhance sports development in the DRC and to help the club improve their intra-African relations.

The delegation was given a tour of some of the top sporting facilities to gain insight into what could be achieved.

"It was an honour to receive a visit from the Minister of Sport for the DRC," noted sporting director, Kaizer Motaung Jr.

"They came to have a look at our facilities and to explore ways to collaborate, not just from a club or even a sporting perspective but also in terms of a stakeholder relationship viewpoint. Also, the visit served to build broader business relations.

"It was a pleasure to host him and his team and lead them through a tour of our facilities and giving them a sense of the history and future vision of Kaizer Chiefs, where we came from and where we want to go as a club," continued Motaung Jr, who added:

"We were also able to learn a lot, and open relations both in sporting and commercial terms from our informal discussions."

Last Wednesday, US politician and Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens enjoyed a landmark visit to South Africa and engaged with Chiefs' head of marketing, Jessica Motaung in the Mother City.

Dickens led a delegation of 35 political, business, and community leaders from Atlanta, Georgia, on a three-city mission to Pretoria, Johannesburg, and Cape Town to explore investment opportunities in South Africa.

The visit is part of the Atlanta Phambili initiative, led by Brigety, aimed at fostering investment ties between South Africa and Atlanta.

Motaung handed Dickens Kaizer Chiefs merch, including this season's Kappa home jersey and a grey baseball cap to sow the seeds of a potential partnership between the Glamour Boys and the US city of Atlanta.
