Back in the day, South Africa had many talented footballers who were masters of entertainment with the ball at their feet. The skills and dribbles they pulled off were magic and this made our diski some of the most entertaining football in the world.
These tricks would pop up when teams had already secured the result, sometimes to add insult to injury to opponents, other times, purely for the sake of entertaining the fans who paid good money to come to the stadiums to support their teams.
The tricks on their own gave good value for money to the faithful fans who paid to see their heroes do the business but all that has changed over the last few seasons of the PSL.
More and more European coaches started coaching in the PSL and this lead to a decrease in the entertaining football for which Mzansi was well renowned.
Every so often a player pops up who reminds us of what we've been missing, that skill and flair that makes us cheer at a player's every move.
Last season we saw a bit of magic here and there from the troublesome Masibusane Zongo who played for Chippa United.
Then, glimpses of Khethokwakhe Masuku's brilliance emerged when he tormented Black Leopards by taking on almost their entire team from the left wing position. His trickery and flair proved too much for anyone in a Black Leopards jersey. The Bucs faithful loved every minute of it.

In the Telkom Knockout match between Orlando Pirates and Golden Arrows, Masuku once again put on a display that I'm sure many of Mzansi's football fans have been longing for. Bucs ultimately knocked Abafana Bes'thende out of the match but many will remember it as the Masuku show.

Fans from any team in SA who saw his display would say, 'that's what we love to see'. He kept the fans shouting at the top of their voices with his majestic skills and it was clear that they loved every minute of it.
A clearly confident Masuku produced a moment of magic early in the Soweto Derby which gave a clear indication that he was ready to bring that flair into the biggest match of South African football and one of the biggest derbies in world football.
Although, the match ended 1-1, it's the entertainment value that will stay with the fans who were inside the FNB Stadium and even those who were watching from the comfort of their homes.
Whether we like it or not, our fans like to be entertained. Khethokwakhe Masuku made that happen on the biggest stage so now fans will expect to see magic every time he touches the ball.
It will also have been watched over and over again by those who have access to YouTube. I've certainly contributed to many of the hits his videos have got.
We want to see more of Masuku, that's what keeps us on the edge of our seats!
