The Ghanaian outfit lost 3-1 to Sundowns in the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday. Following the loss on the weekend, the Ghanaian side announced today that the Swedish coach has gone AWOL in South Africa, and has been reported to the South African Police.
A source that was at the stadium for the game revealed to the Siya crew that Strand had a bust-up with his assistant and it is alleged that blows were exchanged, following the loss to the recently crowned PSL champions.
An eyewitness confirmed the incident with the Siya crew, saying that the troubled coach allegedly had a fight with his assistant coach and the two were allegedly separated by the club's medical team.
Prior to their arrival in South Africa for the game against Sundowns, it had been reported that Strand failed to pitch up for one of the team's games, against International Allies FC.
Medeama raised their concerns about the coach's attitude, although they allowed him to come with the team for the Downs game.
