SuperSport United Face A Sudanese Trip, With Platinum Stars Going To Uganda

Ex-Chiefs Player Turns Hero, Saves Life
The two South African clubs are two rounds away from reaching the group stages of the African continental competition, having made it through the preliminary round, and will now have their eyes set on their next opponents.
SuperSport, who beat ASSM Elgeco Plus, travel to Al-Ahly Shendi for the first leg of their first round tie on the weekend of 10 March, with the Sudanese outfit coming to South Africa a week later for the deciding game.
Dikwena, following on from their victory over Uniao Desportiva do Songo, also play away first against Ugandan outfit Vipers, before playing hosts in the second leg on the weekend of 17 March.
If Stuart Baxter and Cavin Johnson's teams make it through the next round, they will then be drawn against one of the 16 sides that fail to reach the CAF Champions League group stages as they vie for a spot in the group stages.
As with the CL, the CC will have a different format this year, and will now have four groups of four prior to the knockout stages of the competition, with the group stage set to get under way later in the year.
SuperSport United head to Sudan next month, while Platinum Stars will travel to Uganda one week before Mamelodi Sundowns for the CAF Confederation Cup.
