Pirates' chairman, Irvin Khoza, has often voiced his support for Tinkler during his tenure in charge, however following the CAF Confederation Cup final defeat to Etoile du Sahel this weekend, there seems to be pressure to make a coaching change.
While a decision has not been made yet, with Maritzburg United believed to be keen on acquiring the former Bafana Bafana captain, the crew has been informed that Pirates would not be against the two parties going their separate ways.
It is thought that Bucs' management are eager to bring in a foreign coach, possibly from Europe, when the time comes to replace Tinkler at the club, while Augusto Palacios and Tebogo Moloi could take over in the interim while they search for the right man.
Tinkler's future at Pirates is currently up in the air after the CCC defeat, and it is thought that the 45-year-old will meet with the club's management in the near future to discuss the way forward.
