Former Kaizer Chiefs striker, Marks Maponyane, says he wasn't at all surprised by Bidvest Wits' 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Azam in the CAF Confederation Cup.

'Go Man Go' spoke to Soccer Laduma in the latest edition, 964 and said that he believes that Gavin Hunt's men are prioritising the Absa Premiership over the African tournament.
"Bidvest Wits' 3-0 defeat to Tanzania's Azam FC was not entirely shocking to me. I just think Wits realized they can challenge for the league and therefore that's a big focus for them."
"Travelling the length and breadth of Africa in pursuit of the CAF Confederation Cup trophy is perhaps not important now," Maponyane told Soccer Laduma.
Wits face Azam in Tanzania on Sunday, March 20 and will look to overturn the 3-0 deficit.
Maponyane added that he doesn't think that Wits are too disappointed at the prospect of facing early elimination in this year's continental showpiece.
"They must have felt it would take a toll on their squad and domestic objectives. It was a decision I think they made. I don't think they are as disappointed as imagined.
"Maybe they might produce a miraculous comeback in the second leg when they travel to East Africa," he told Soccer Laduma.
