The Brazilians, who have won the Absa Premiership title for the 2015/16 season, will be hosting Medeama from Ghana at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.
According to reports from Ghana, the side has been forced to delay their trip to Mzansi due to paperwork-related issues. Having initially planned their trip for Wednesday, the club has rescheduled their departure for tonight.
"Medeama are holding out a training session at the Lizzy Sports Complex in Accra following their delayed trip to South Africa. 'Reformed' coach Tom Strand is leading his charges as he begins the process of mapping out a strategy to outwit the newly-crowned South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Confederation Cup play-off tie on Saturday. The two-time Ghanaian champions are finally expected to travel to South Africa on Thursday evening ahead of the first leg fixture. Visa hitches delayed their trip on Wednesday night and should get all clear to travel tonight on board South African Airways," Ghanasoccernet reported.
Earlier this year, a scheduled CAF Champions League game for Kaizer Chiefs and Volcan Club de Moroni did not take place, resulting in Steve Komphela's side getting a walkover win, after the Comoros-based side failed to pitch at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium on February 27.
