Orlando Pirates striker, Kermit Erasmus, is pleased with his nomination for the Africa-based African Player Of The Year award but is not letting it get to his head.

Erasmus and teammate, Felipe Ovono, are the only Southern Africa-based players to make it onto the ten-man shortlist for this year's Africa-based Player Of The Year that will be announced at the CAF Awards in January.
The striker has been integral to Bucs' success in reaching the CAF Confederation Cup finals and has indicated that it is an honour to be recognised on the continent.
"It's a great honour, we leave it all on the field when we play for this badge and to be in the top ten shortlist is a great honour because it means that the work I'm putting in as a striker is recognised not only at Club level but continentally as well," Erasmus told Bucs' official website
"I obviously can't allow it to go to my head because at the end of the day it's just a nomination but I will take what I need from it which is motivation to work even harder.
"Look I think anyone who is in a position to win a CAF award would obviously love to win it. So yes Ovono and I may be shortlisted but for us it's not about individual accolades, it is about the Team achievement and the rest will come later.
"Quite honestly I joined Orlando Pirates because I wanted the opportunity to play in CAF and to seriously compete for CAF titles, I mean Pirates is the only team that has successfully campaigned for the CAF Champions League in South Africa.
"When we qualified to play in the Confederation Cup we collectively told ourselves that we were going to fight and now we are in the finals, therefore being shortlisted just means I have stayed true to the course."
