Erasmus, along with Thami Gabuza, Oupa Manyisa and Felipe Ovono, were the only players from the Absa Premiership who were nominated for the award, and he says that it's a special moment for him.
The 25-year-old forward has been pivotal in Pirates' progression to the CAF Confederation Cup final this year, scoring five goals, and as with Gabuza is in with a shot of landing the competition's Golden Boot award.
Speaking to Pirates' official Twitter account, Erasmus said, "I've always wanted to play in CAF competition to get nominated in something that I just enjoy is quite special.
"It's pretty cool for us players to get nominated for these awards at such a scale because it means you're doing well."

While Oupa Manyisa (injury) and Felipe Ovono (national duty) are not available to train at present, Eric Tinkler will no doubt be hoping to have all of his key players available for next month's two-legged final.
