Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus has his sights set on the CAF Confederation Cup as he looks to fulfil one of the goals he set out when he joined the Sea Robbers – becoming a part of history.
In 2013 Orlando Pirates reached the final of the CAF Champions League where they lost against Al Ahly of Egypt. Erasmus did not play a part of that game because he was not yet registered for CAF competitions, having just joined the team from SuperSport United.
Fast forwarding to 2015 Erasmus scored one of the goals that sent the team to the final of the CAF Confederation Cup - ironically beating Al Ahly at home, which is where their Champions League dreams had been crushed.
"When I joined Pirates I said I wanted to be part of history by winning a CAF trophy with the team and we are just one step away from achieving that," he said.
"It's good that I scored against Al Ahly and that the team won. Yes I would love to win the top goal scorer in the tournament, but that's not the main aim.
"The main aim is to win the trophy as a team and I want to be part of that history," the former Amajita star explained.
