Wits find themselves 10 points off league leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns, after the Brazilians beat SuperSport United last night, however will not give up their hopes of pushing for the title.
Meanwhile, the Clever Boys face Bloemfontein Celtic in the Nedbank this weekend and will take on Azam of Tanzania in the CCC later this month as their schedule gets fuller.
Speaking to Wits' official website about their upcoming CAF opponents, Hunt explained that they are a good side who he knows quite well.
He said, "Our squad is thin at the moment, and I think we have two players out for the next round. In CAF you are only allowed to get two yellows and then you are suspended for one game. Azam is a good side, they have John Bocco who came on trial when I was working at SuperSport , and he is a good striker. Allan Wanga plays in the national team. I know the team quite well – they play on astroturf as well.
"At least the first leg is here at home. I think it is very important to not be naive in these cups and play your whole squad; I could never have played the team who played against Maritzburg United so soon again in CAF. The squad selected for the Confederation Cup will be tested in the next match to come, Azam is a good side."
Wits host Celtic on Friday night as they look to become the third team to reach the last 16 following the two matches this evening.
