The Bafana Bafana left back was one of the influential players for Tinkler's side with his fine performance at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
The player's showing and high work rate left the coach impressed, despite having drawn 1-1 with the side from Tunisia.
"They had a plan to stop @ThaboMatlaba8 but he still made 3 very telling entries. He's a capable player can evade his marker," Tinkler has been quoted saying on Pirates' official Twitter account.
Tinkler and his technical team have been working on preparing the team to finish the job with victory in the second leg game in Tunisia on Sunday for him and the players to create history.

"It would be fantastic as a coach in my 1st season to win the cup, also for Gabuza to win golden boot. But it's not about us," Pirates tweeted.
