SuperSport United bagged two away goals, as they suffered a 3-2 defeat to Sudanese outfit, El Ahly Shendi in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup tie on Sunday evening.
Stuart Baxter's charges carved out a couple openings in the closing stages through Aubrey Modiba, who headed straight at the goalkeeper after seven minutes.
Thuso Phala also carved out a chance in the ninth minute when the winger forced the El Ahly goalkeeper into a finger-tip save.
SuperSport were playing with Mokoena and Michale Morton in the middle of the park and were combining well.
The home side had the ball in the back of the net after 39 minutes, but the strike was ruled out for offside.
The score remained goalless as the sides entered the break.
However, Shendi were awarded a penalty after the hour mark and they duly converted the spot-kick to take the lead.
The home side went in search of a second goal and they were rewarded with another goal in the 71st minute.
However, Baxter's side managed to snatch an away goal as Mario Booysen headed home Kingston Nkhatha's cross, before Shendi bagged a third goal moments later.
The Tshwane outfit managed to snatch a second away goal in stoppage time courtesy of a strike from Jeremy Brockie, 3-2.
