Cavin Johnson's charges came into the clash having secured a 1-0 win in the first leg thanks to Robert Ng'ambi's second-half strike.
However, Dikwena showed some good touches in the opposition half but struggled to carve out chances in the final third.
Johnson brought on the likes of Sibusiso Msomi and Gift Sithole in the second half, however the score remained goalless as the referee brought an end to the match.
The South African outfit managed to seal the win late in the second half courtesy of a strike from Ndumiso Mabena.
Stars have now progress, winning the tie 2-0 on aggregate, and will now face Ugandan outfit Vipers in the next round.
Dikwena will be hoping to be joined in the next round by SuperSport United, who play their second-leg tie on Sunday.
Here's how they lined up:
Stars XI: Mzimela, Mlilo, Nhlapo, Zulu, Mabule, Mathe, Mere, Ng'ambi, Tshabalala, Mabena, Ntuli.
