Stellies coach Steve Barker made one change from the loss to Berkane last week, as Sanele Barns dropped came into the start line-up in place of Genino Palace.
Steve Barker's troops came into the clash on the back of a humbling by the Moroccan outfit last weekend in KwaZulu-Natal, leaving the side winless in their opening two encounters.
Lunda Sul, meanwhile, picked up their first point last weekend after holding Stade Malien to a 1-1 draw on home soil.
The Carling Knockout champions managed to hold their own against the Angolan outfit in a relatively quiet opening 45 minutes, where neither side were able to carve out any clear-cut opportunities.
The visitors had a big chance to open the scoring after the hour mark when Andre de Jong sent Sanele Barns through on goal, however the latter failed to beat the goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation in the box.
Barker's charges took over in the second half and should have had a couple goals after the 70-minute mark, with both De Jong and Jayden Adams failing to profit from one-on-one situations in the 18-yard area.
With time running out, the South African outfit went even closer in the final ten minutes when Adams turned provider to pick out Devin Titus, who saw his powerful strike crash against the crossbar.
Stellenbosch got their reward a few minutes later when Titus made his second chance count by heading home his first goal of the group stages to seal his side's first win.
