Ajax Cape Town's Reasons For Confed Cup Withdrawal Rejected

Ajax Cape Town's Reasons For Confed Cup Withdrawal Rejected

The Siya crew can reveal that the governing body of football in Angola (Federação Angolana de Futebol) disapprove of Ajax Cape Town's reasons for their withdrawal from the CAF Confederation Cup.

It was earlier revealed by the Siya crew that the South African Football Association (SAFA) says drastic action will be taken against Ajax for their decision not to participate in the continental competition.

Ajax have been scheduled to play Angolan side, Sagrada Esperanca, in the Confederation Cup in Dundo next weekend. But the Mother City outfit is no longer willing to take part in the competition, citing inability to secure the safety of players and failure to get clarity from the Angolan Football Federation about travel arrangements among other grievances.

Now, indication is that FAF have been left unhappy with Ajax's decision. The Siya crew is in possession of correspondence from a FAF official to various parties involved in the matter.

Dear all,

Every day we hear new stories from this team. Next thing we know they will tell us that the region does not exist. The arrangements to connect to Dundo depend on their arrival and never the other way around, which is never heard of.

Sagrada Esperança is a team of the ENDIAMA, one of the biggest diamond company in the world which has partnership with the South African and World Companies. They have private flights for their services.

We should be talking football here. In the Angolan sports history we do not have records of teams playing in unsafe or non-appropriate grounds.
