The Brazilians began their grou-stage campaign with a 1-1 draw against the Moroccan outfit at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday evening.
Mosimane believes they threw away a perfect opportunity to beat the competition holders after dominating possession and chances in the second-half.
"We let them off the hook, one mistake at the back. It's nearly the same mistake we made against Maritzburg United. We gave them a gift from South Africa to Morocco," Mosimane told SuperSport after the game.
"They're happy, we pushed them back. They can't take the pressure, they played for a point that's smart but their goalkeeper kills time. He reminds me of one of the goalkeepers in South Africa. But its okay we tried to play.
"It's the same way. Esperance and all of them have come here and parked the bus, what can you do. We tried, these are the champions of Africa and we put them under pressure.
"But we tried, we could have done it better but I'm not unhappy with the performance of the boys. It's mistakes, we pay hefty for our mistakes."
