Denis Onyango: 7/10

He was solid between the sticks and marshaled his defence well. He made numerous good saves to keep his side in the match.

Thapelo Morena: 6/10

He performed his defensive duties well but did not add numbers in attack from his right-back wing role.

Wayne Arendse: 7/10

He was solid in his centre-back role and made numerous tackles and interceptions to stop the Rayon attack. His leadership skills also kept the team calm in defence. Most importantly, he scored Sundowns opening goal with a six-yard volley.

Ricardo Nascimento: 7/10

He performed his central defensive duties well and communicated effectively with the rest of his defence. He made some important tackles to stop the Rayon attack.

Tebogo Langerman: 7/10

The left wing-back was superb in his defensive duties, keeping the wing-attack of Rayon at bay. He also got forward in attack down the flank and supplied a couple of good crosses into the box.

Tiyani Mabunda: 5/10

The midfielder was never really in the game. He struggled to get his foot on the ball and when he was in possession, he gave it away cheaply.

Hlonpho Kekana: 7/10

He was brilliant in his central midfield role where he anchored the team. He provided a good buffer in front of the back four and was the link between defence and attack. His passing was accurate and he had a few shots on goal which went narrowly wide.

Themba Zwane: 7/10

He was superb in his creative midfield role and provided numerous pin-point passes to set the strikers through on goal. He was also solid in the midfield where he kept the Rayon attacking midfielders quiet.

Gaston Sirino: 8/10

He was lively in attack and caused a few headaches for the Rayon defence. He used his speed and skill to attack down the flanks and put some dangerous crosses into the box. It was his shot on goal that saw the keeper push his effort onto the crossbar, before Vilakazi head home the rebound.

Sibusiso Vilakazi: 7/10

He was rather quiet in the first half and saw very little of the ball, but in the second half he sprang to life and scored his sides' second goal after reacting to a rebound off the crossbar.

Percy Tau: 7/10

The diminutive striker was a constant threat in attack and caused numerous problems for the Rayon defence. He often sued his speed, skill and strength to get the better of his opponents and find his way through on goal. However, he was rather wasteful in front of goal, missing a few chances but also seeing a number of efforts well-saved.
