The French have qualified for the tournament for the first time since 1996, but they last won a gold medal in 1984 when they beat Brazil 2-0 in the final.
There was no place in the side for 22-year-old Kylian Mbappe, who is currently on duty with the senior side at the European Championship.
2018 World Cup winner Florian Thauvin has been included in the squad as one of the three overage players alongside Andre-Pierre Gignac.

France open their Olympic campaign against Mexico on 22 July in Tokyo before they travel to Saitama three days later to take on David Notoane's South Africa.
The Frecnh will be looking to better their last showing in 1996, where they lost to Brazil in quarter-finals at the Orange Bowl in Miami.
