Barca Reveal Enrique Quits Barca
The 46-year-old's future at the club has been a major talking point this season, and with his contract expiring in June many had begun linking others with his job.
After watching his side hammer Sporting Gijon 6-1 at the Camp Nou on Wednesday, Enrique revealed why he will not be carrying on as manager of the Catalan giants once the campaign is over.
"I want to announce to everyone that I won't continue at Barcelona next year. It's difficult, but a decision I have thought about," the Spanish tactician said after the match, according to Fox Sports.
"I need to rest. That's the main reason why I am not going to continue. It is a difficult, measured and well thought-out decision, and I think I have to be loyal to what I think.
"I would like to thank the club for the confidence they have shown in me. It's been three unforgettable years."
