La Liga Result: Barcelona 6-0 Getafe Date: 12 March 2016 Venue: Camp Nou Lionel Messi and Neymar were on song as Barcelona asserted their dominance in La Liga on Saturday with a 6-0 bashing of Getafe. Getafe were unlucky to concede the opening goal in the eighth minute. Lionel Messi found Jordi Alba with a pass and his cross was sliced into the back of the net by the visitors' own Juan Rodriguez. A few minutes later the Catalans had a penalty as Neymar was brought down in the area by Velazquez. However, Messi's spot-kick lacked power and was saved by the goalkeeper. Barca doubled their lead nonetheless in the 19th minute. Andres Iniesta initiated the attack with a ball over the top that Messi volleyed superbly to pick out Munir El Haddadi who headed into the open goal. It was soon 3-0 as Barca kept the offence going. Roberto instigated the assault as he won a tackle before playing the ball across for Messi who sent the through-ball to Neymar. The Brazilian provided the composed finish. Messi got his name on the scoresheet as well just before of the break. The Argentine latched onto Arda's pass and cut onto his left boot before smashing a swerving strike in at the near post from 25 yards. Neymar and Messi were at it again six minutes into the second stanza. Messi threaded another ball through for Neymar who calmly directed it beyond the goalkeeper for a 5-0 lead. The goalfest was capped off as Barca produced a sixth goal. On this occasion it was a corner kick that provided the chance. It was flicked on by Gerard Pique towards the far post where Arda Turan scored with a sensational overhead kick.
