EURO 2020
Result: Spain 1-1 Poland
Date: 19 June 2021
Venue: Estadio Olímpico de Sevilla
Spain had another disappointing evening in front of goal as they remain winless at EURO 2020 after drawing 1-1 with Poland on Saturday night.
Alvaro Morata kept his spot in the side despite the criticism he faced after the opening game, while Villarreal star Gerardo Moreno also started up top.
Luis Enrique's looked from the onset as Daniel Olmo went close to breaking the deadlock on 10 minutes but his shot was saved by Wojciech Szczesny.
Spain got the opening goal on 26 minutes as the front pair combined, with Moreno cutting inside and firing a shot goalwards which Morata turned home from six-yards out.
Poland took a while to get going, and they nearly got themselves level three minutes before the break when Karol Swiderski rattled the upright while Robert Lewandowski failed to beat Unai Simon from the rebound.

Lewandowski was not to be denied nine minutes after the break as the Polish striker rose above Aymeric Laporte to head home a neat cross from Kamil Jozwiak.
Spain were awarded a penalty two minutes later when Jakub Moder caught Moreno late in the box after a review from the Video Assistant Referee. The Spanish striker stepped up but struck his spot-kick against the crossbar before Morata fired wide from the rebound.
However, that proved to be Moreno's final major involvement as he made way for Fabian Ruiz while Pablo Sarabi replaced Koke for the final 20 minutes.
Morata could've won the game for La Roja with seven minutes left on the clock after being teed up by Ferran Torres, but the Juventus star was smothered by Szczesny.
However, neither side were able to find a second goal in the latter stages as Spain drop points for a second game in a row while Poland get their first point.\
