The Esperance Sportive de Tunis supporter who nearly suffered a potentially fatal fall when his side played Mamelodi Sundowns has finally broken his silence on the incident and its aftermath.

Following Masandawana's 1-0 win over the Tunisian juggernauts at Loftus Versfeld at the start of the month, violent clashes erupted in the stands as supporters of both clubs became involved in a skirmish that escalated rapidly.
Videos circulating on social media appeared to show Esperance fans and Ka Bo Yellow supporters seemingly throwing punches at one another which caused the away side's fanbase to began retreating.
One Esperance fan, in an attempt to leap into the opposite stand, struggled mid-jump and ended up in a precarious position, hanging off the ledge of the stand he was trying to access. Before the situation became even more perilous, a Sundowns supporter named Siboniso Masango saved him by pulling him to safety.
The supporter from the North African giants, whose name is believed to be Vittorio Bennia, has spoken about the ordeal and his thoughts during the dramatic moment.
"I never imagined that that fan would come when the clashes reached their peak and help me get back to the stands after I was stuck on an iron barrier and was about to fall. At first, I thought he would push me, but he did the opposite," the Qatar-based fan told a North African publication.

"When I arrived in Doha, my wife couldn't believe I had returned safely. Many Esperance fans greeted me upon my arrival, and there were also fans from other clubs competing with Esperance, but none of my team's officials contacted me."
