Venue: Parc de Princes
Marcus Rashford struck late in the second half to hand Manchester United a 2-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in UEFA Champions League action on Tuesday night.
Bruno Fernandes skippered Man United in the absence of the injured Harry Maguire while PSG welcomed back Angel Di Maria and Neymar to partner Kylian Mbappe upfront.
The hosts had a great chance to go ahead in the 12th minute after Layvin Kurzawa whipped in a dangerous cross, with Mbappe getting the vital touch but goalkeeper David De Gea made a crucial save at point-blank range.
The Red Devils were awarded a penalty in the 20th minute after Abdou Diallo dragged down Martial inside the box, with Fernandes stepping up to take the spot-kick.
Initially Fernandes' effort was saved by goalkeeper Keylor Navas but the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) ordered a retake after Navas came off his line too early and the Portuguese finally broke the deadlock from the re-take.
Thomas Tuchel's charges looked to restore parity soon after but were struggling with the final pass, with Neymar and Mbappe frustrated by the marking from the visitors as the French side went to the break trailing by an odd goal.
PSG were threatening to get the equaliser coming from the break and just after Kurzawa hit the frame of the goal with a cross-cum-shot ten minutes inside the second stanza, Martial headed Neymar's corner into his own net in an attempt to clear.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made his first change in the 68th minute by bringing on Paul Pogba in place of Alex Telles and straight after that, Rashford forced Navas into a sharp save towards the bottom corner against the run of play.
The game was there for the taking for either side in the closing phase and Rashford eventually snatched the winner for United in the last two minutes with low strike across Navas from just inside the box to hand the English giants a perfect start in Group H.
