Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane Writes UEFA Champions League History, Beats Ronaldinho & Didier Drogba Records

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been in superb goalscoring form recently and has written his name into the UEFA Champions League history books, breaking a record held by the likes of Ronaldinho and Didier Drogba.

Click through the mini-gallery to see the players with the best goalscoring start in UCL history.

The 24-year-old scored his side's first strike in their two-goal comeback to draw 2-2 at Juventus on Tuesday night.

In so doing, Kane became the first Englishman to score seven UCL goals in a single European campaign since Steven Gerrard in 2009. In addition, he also became the first player to score nine goals in his first nine appearances in the competition.

Kane beat the previous record jointly-held by Ronaldinho, Drogba, Simone Inzaghi and Diego Costa, who all scored eight goals in their first nine appearances in the competition, according to Opta.

The Spurs striker also bettered the return of Cristiano Ronaldo, who struck zero goals in his first nine UCL games, and Lionel Messi, who scored just twice.

Do you think Kane can match Ronaldo and Messi's overall record numbers in the competition once he reaches their age? Have your say in the comments section below.
