FC Barcelona wonderkid Ansu Fati became the club's youngest-ever player to play in the Champions League this week, and would have become the competition's youngest-ever goalscorer if he had netted against Borussia Dortmund. However, the 16-year-old will still break the record if he scores against any of the Catalan giants' opponents during the group stage.
The Guinea-Bissau-born forward is chasing the record held by former Olympiacos and Ghana striker Peter Ofori-Quaye, who netted for the Greek side against Rosenborg during the 1997/98 campaign at the age of 17 years and 194 days.

Behind Ofori-Quaye is Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic, who was 11 days older when he scored for Dinamo Zagreb against Olympique Lyon. The current Chelsea star opened the scoring on that day, but ultimately saw his side succumb to a humbling 7-1 defeat to their French opponents.
In third place is former FC Barcelona starlet Bojan Krkic, who became the first player born in the 1990s to score in the competition when he netted against Bundesliga side Schalke 04 at the age of 17 years and 215 days.
