The two clubs have won the European Cup five times, and are bidding to take a significant step towards lifting their sixth title.
The Catalan giants are in the semi-final for the first time since lifting the trophy back in 2015, but have only progressed in two out of their last five clashes at this stage.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have reached back-to-back semi-finals and will hope to continue their unbeaten run at Camp Nou.
So far, the visitors have won twice and recorded two draws in four trips to Barcelona's home ground. Overall, the two sides have met eight times, with the Reds winning thrice in comparison to Barcelona's two victories – both at Anfield, while three games ended in a draw.
However, Jurgen Klopp's men have won all two-legged ties against the Blaugrana so far, with their most recent clash coming in the 2006/07 Champions League round of 16, when Liverpool advanced on the away goal rule after the tie finished 2-2.
In Manchester United, Barcelona already eliminated an English team in the previous round and Ernesto Valverde's team have picked up just one defeat in their last 15 European games against English clubs, winning 11 of those fixtures.
In addition, they are unbeaten in 13 knockout games at Camp Nou and 31 Champions League home matches overall. Barcelona are also the only unbeaten team left in this year's competition.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have won their last 10 two-legged European ties, and are unbeaten in their last five European games.
Here is how they line up:
FC Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Sergi Roberto, Piqué, Lenglet, Jordi Alba; Busquets, Rakitic, Arturo Vidal; Messi. Luis Suárez, Coutinho.
Liverpool: Alisson, Gomez, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Milner, Keita, Mane, Salah
