The Spaniard was seen with visibles scratches on his face and nose following City's 3-3 draw with Feyenoord at the Etihad Stadium.
A brace from Erling Haaland and a goal from Ilkay Gundogan had the Citizens leading by three goals to nil until an incredible Feyenoord comeback late on.
The result means Guardiola's side are winless in six matches across all competitions, with a Premier League trip to Liverpool set for this weekend.
After the game, City's manager was seen sporting a red scratch on his nose, while scratches could also be seen on his head.

Guardiola explained that the wounds were self-inflicted in his post-match press conference, before letting out a laugh.
"My finger, here [points to nose]. My nail. I want to harm myself," he said, according to the Mirror.
Before Tuesday's European tie, the English champions had suffered an unprecedented five consecutive defeats.
While Guardiola has insisted he still has faith in his players, he did admit that his players need to improve their overall effort.
"Three episodes didn't allow us to win, what we needed. For many, many reasons, not just for the terms of qualification and get the points to go through. Other reasons," he added.
"It's what it is. So difficult to swallow right now. The game was good. We scored three, we could have scored more, we do everything but at the end, we give away especially the first one and after we are not stable enough to do it.

"It's not about not running, no commitment, nothing like that but in football, you have to do it in certain moments. The second goal, the second post, touch the post. Improve, what can you do? So rest one or two days and prepare for Anfield."
