A shock report has claimed that Mohamed Salah has called a top European club amid his unresolved contract situation at Liverpool.
Citing reports in Spain, Football365 has claimed the 32-year-old Egyptian international has been in touch with Barcelona over a potential move.
Salah, arguably Liverpool's most in-form player this season, will see his current deal expire at the end of the campaign should he not commit to a renewal.
The former Chelsea winger, though, believes his future is out of his hands, having publicly said he is still yet to receive an official offer from the Reds.
In addition, Salah admitted to being "more out than in" given his situation, comments that sent shockwaves throughout England and Europe on Monday.
This has led to reports suggesting that the Premier League superstar is now actively seeking a move away from Liverpool.
Contrasting rumours suggest his preference would be to remain on Merseyside. However, with the turn of the year just over a month away, Salah will soon be in a position to listen to proposals from potentially interested parties.
Salah has previously been linked with clubs in oil-rich Saudi Arabia, but it is perhaps more likely that he continues in Europe's top five leagues should he leave Anfield.
The Egypt captain has enjoyed an incredibly successful seven and a half years at Liverpool since his arrival, having contributed to 322 goals in 367 appearances.
He has also won every trophy available to him at Liverpool, including the UEFA Champions League and Premier League.
