Former Red Devils skipper, Keane, said that Los Blancos looked like they were playing with 10-men for most of the game, as the 25-year-old Bale added nothing to the team and kept finding an easy way out.
"It was difficult for Madrid to play with 10 men," he told ITV.
"Gareth Bale gave them nothing. There was a lack of confidence, he kept making the easy decision.
"His team-mates can't be happy with him. He took the easy option every time."
Scholes, a fellow pundit and Keane's former United teammate, felt that Real had nine men, as Ramos' display in the centre of midfield lacked quality – adding that Carlo Ancelotti and his side missed the presence of Luka Modric.
"I'd probably say Madrid had nine men with Ramos as well. It was a real lack of quality in there from him," said Scholes.
"Every time he got the ball he gave it away. He was hitting the ball out of play. Modric was a big miss for them."
Tuesday night was Bale's ninth Champions League game of the season for Real, and he has only managed two goals and one assist so far.
