Mundo Deportivo claims the legendary Spanish midfielder is in advanced talks to join Inter Miami in the United States, where he would once again play alongside Messi.
The 34-year-old had reportedly been considering a big-money offer from Saudi Arabia, but is now believed to be closing in on a deal with the club co-owned by David Beckham.
It is suggested that Busquets' representatives and the MLS franchise are currently working on the contractual conditions of the agreement, which will see the midfielder join the side for the remainder of this season and two further campaigns.
Messi's call to make the move to Miami was said to be hugely influential in the 2010 FIFA World Cup winner's decision, with the two La Masia graduates having last played together in 2021 after winning countless trophies together in Spain.
Reports also suggest that former Blaugrana head coach Gerardo "Tata" Martino has been linked with the vacant managerial role at Inter Miami following Phil Neville's recent sacking.
