Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has sent a strongly-worded message to ex-Premier League superstar Eden Hazard, who has played just 158 minutes of football for the Spanish giants so far this season.
Hazard Makes Real Madrid Admission
The Belgium international has battled to perform consistently since arriving at Los Blancos in 2019, a move that saw him become the club's most expensive signing of all time.
This season, things have been no different for the 31-year-old, who was once hailed among the world's best attackers and tipped to win a Ballon d'Or.
Hazard has been used in just 158 minutes of Real's 2022/23 campaign so far, with head coach Ancelotti preferring the likes of Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Federico Valverde over the former Chelsea talisman.
With Los Blancos' No. 7 having recently admitted to finding life in Spain difficult with limited playing time, Ancelotti has now insisted that every player at the 14-time UEFA Champions League winners knows there is competition for places.
"He knows the situation very well, every player understands his situation very well," he said, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
"There's a lot of competition here."
Hazard's only start for Real so far this season came in their 4-1 win over Mallorca in LaLiga last month.
