Group G: Switzerland vs Cameroon (24/11, 12pm SAST)

Switzerland:

- Switzerland sit 15th in the FIFA World Rankings. Their recent form is: LWWWL.

- The Swiss have Manchester City's Manuel Akanji in defence and Arsenal's Granit Xhaka in midfield, while Red Bull Salzburg striker Noah Okafor has been on fire in the UEFA Champions League this season.

- The side went unbeaten in World Cup qualifying with five wins and three draws, finishing above Italy.

- The Swiss have played in 11 previous World Cups. Four of their past five appearances have seen them exit in the round of 16.

Cameroon:

- Cameroon are the lowest-ranked team in Group G, sitting 43rd in the FIFA rankings. Their recent form is not great: WLLDD.

- The Indomitable Lions have a very decent strike force. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has been on fire for Bayern Munich and will be partnered by Brentford's Bryan Mbuemo.

- Cameroon have failed to score in three of their past six matches. Their last two friendlies brought 1-1 draws with Jamaica and Panama.

- They have played in seven previous World Cups. On six occasions they have not made it past the group stage, with one quarter-final appearance in 1990.

Predicted Result: Switzerland WIN. Murat Yakin's side have a strong spine defensively and should take the three points.

Recommended Scoreline Options: 1-0 or 2-0

Group H: Uruguay vs South Korea (24/11, 3pm SAST)

Uruguay:

- La Celeste Olimpica are the 14th-ranked side in the FIFA rankings. They recent form is as follows: WDWLW.

- Uruguay have a strong midfield with Rodrigo Bentancur and Fede Valverde together. Liverpool's Darwin Nunez will be supported by veteran Luis Suarez in attack.

- They qualified for the World Cup by bouncing back from four successive qualification defeats to win their final four fixtures.

- They surprisingly lost a pre-tournament friendly to Iran (1-0).

- Uruguay won the 1930 and 1950 World Cups. They finished fourth in 2010, exited in the last 16 in 2014 and made the quarter-finals in 2018.

South Korea:

- The Asian Tigers are ranked 28th in the world by FIFA. WLDWW have been their five most recent results.

- Son Heung-min is fit after facial surgery. He will be supported in attack by Wolverhampton Wanderers' Hwang Hee-chan, while Min-jae Kim has been outstanding at the back for Napoli this season.

- South Korea cruised through World Cup qualifying, losing just once in 10 matches and ending nine points clear of second place.

- South Korea famously finished fourth as World Cup hosts in 2022. Since then, they've had three group-stage exits and made the round of 16 once, in 2010.

Predicted Result: Uruguay WIN. With a strong midfield and attack, Uruguay could be dark horses for this tournament.

Recommended Scoreline Options: 3-0 or 3-1

- Portugal's last five World Cup appearances have seen a fourth-place finish in 2004, two group-stage exits and two round of 16 eliminations.

Ghana:

- The Black Stars are ranked 61st in the FIFA ratings, the lowest-ranked side at the World Cup. Their form reads: WLLWW.

- Ghana will look to Jordan Ayew (Crystal Palace) for goals, while Brighton Hove Albion right-back Tariq Lamptey will bring speed down the flank.

- Ghana had an awful Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, finishing bottom of their group. They beat Nigeria on away goals to qualify for the World Cup.

- Ghana have played in three previous World Cups, making the round of 16 in 2006 and the quarter-finals in 2010.

Predicted Result: Portugal WIN. Ghana could make life difficult for Portugal, but the Europeans should have too much attacking quality.

Brazil:

- Tite's side are the top side in the FIFA World Rankings and a favourite to lift the Jules Rimet trophy. Their recent results have been: WWWWW.

- Brazil have a star-studded team led by forwards Neymar and Vinicius Jr. Chelsea's Thiago Silva will anchor the defence, with Manchester United's Casemiro in the engine room.

- Brazil have lost just once in 29 matches. They've kept seven clean sheets in 10 matches.

- The Selecao have won a record five World Cups. Their last four appearances have seen one semi-final and three quarter-final exits.

Serbia:

- In the FIFA world rankings, Serbia sit in 21st place. Their recent form is strong: WDWWW.

- The Serbs have plenty of firepower in Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus and Fulham's Alexander Mitrovic. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (Lazio) runs the show in central midfield.

- Serbia have been beaten just twice in their past 16 matches. They've netted 18 goals in their past six fixtures.

- Serbia have played in two previous World Cups since their separation from Montenegro. They were dumped out in the group stage in both 2010 and 2018.
