Cristiano Ronaldo may have scored six more league goals than Lionel Messi has in 2019/20 so far, but the Argentine has received twice as many Man of the Match awards as his longstanding rival.

Messi has featured in 31 LaLiga games thus far in this campaign, and was named Man of the Match in 20 of them, according to WhoScored.
As a consequence, the Argentine has won twice as many MOTM awards as Ronaldo has in Serie A this season.
The Portuguese superstar took his goals tally to 28 for the season in Juventus' 2-2 draw with Atalanta on Saturday, while Messi set up Barca's 1-0 winner at Real Valladolid on the same day.
The Argentine, though, has scored just once in his past seven league games, while Ronaldo has found the back of the net on seven occasions in his past six league fixtures.
The Barca captain has recorded 22 goals and 20 assists in 2019/20, becoming the first player since Thierry Henry to reach the 20-mark for both goals and assists in a season.
Ronaldo, meanwhile, has scored 28 times and assisted another six strikes in this campaign, and is currently experiencing an incredible run of at least one goal involvement in his past 18 Serie A games.
The 35-year-old has picked as many MOTM awards as Timo Werner did for RB Leipzig, with the German striker scoring 28 goals and setting up another eight strikes in the Bundesliga this season.

Other players in the top 10 include Karim Benzema and Kevin De Bruyne, but Robert Lewandowski – the current leader in the European Golden Shoe race – perhaps surprisingly, does not feature.
