Sanchez made his first start for Inter Milan in their 3-1 victory over Sampdoria on Saturday, but went from hero to villain in just 46 minutes. He scored his first goal for his new side to make the score 2-0, and was, in fact, involved in the Nerazzurri's opening strike too – Inter's opener from Stefano Sensi bounced off his back into the goal, but Serie A registered it as a goal for the Italian and not the United loanee.
Moments after the half-time break, though, Sanchez was sent off after receiving a second yellow card for a dive, and will now miss his club's top-of-the-table clash against Juventus next weekend.
Gianluigi Buffon, meanwhile, wrote his name into Serie A's history books after breaking Paolo Maldini's all-time appearance record. The 41-year-old featured in Juve's 2-0 victory over SPAL, making his 903rd league appearance in the process, one more than the AC Milan legend.
