The France captain made a dream start to life at Los Blancos after scoring in their 2-0 win over Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup final on Wednesday.
After Federico Valverde put the European champions in front in the 59th minute, Mbappe doubled his team's lead a mere nine minutes later.
The 25-year-old got on the end of a smart pass from Jude Bellingham before finding the back of the net to secure his first trophy at Real.
"It was a great night," he said, according to The National.
"It's a great moment for me. And we won a title, which is important – at Madrid you always have to win.
"I am very happy. And with the goal too – it is important for a striker like me.
"But the most important thing has been to have the pleasure of playing with this team."
Mbappe is expected to be in action again on the weekend, when Real get their LALIGA season underway away against Mallorca.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti, meanwhile was impressed with the ex-Paris Saint-Germain superstar's debut, particularly at how he gelled well with his new teammates.
"Mbappe did really well, he adapted really well to the team," he told reporters.
