Argentina superstar Lionel Messi says his son Thiago is the most important thing in his life, even more so than lifelong club Barcelona.
Messi Upset Over His Poor Penalty Record
The Argentine is not known to talk much about his family life, but he has admitted that the birth of his son has changed him in every way possible.
Messi admits that he used to struggle to come to terms with playing badly, or when the team lost, but that all changed once his son was born.
"I used to lose or play badly and didn't talk to anyone for three or four days until I got over it. Now when I lose a game, I get home, I see my son and I'm over it," he told Barcelona's website.
"I'm still angry on the inside, but everything changes when I see him. Fatherhood has helped me to grow up. It has helped me to not lose the plot over football and to realise that there are also other things in life."
The Argentine recently scored his 399th goal for Barcelona against Sevilla, which was another small milestone in his career.
