Just a week after overtaking Pele in the all-time goalscoring charts, Cristiano Ronaldo has equalled the world record for most goals in football history, which has stood for over 65 years.

It was another historic goal for the 35-year-old, who has now netted 759 times for club and country.
As a consequence, he equalled Josef Bican's reported world record for most goals scored in football history.
Ronaldo reached the incredible milestone in 1037 games, while Bican is reported to have netted his 759 strikes in 495 games.
According to statistics, Bican has scored more than 805 goals in official matches (including his youth career) and more than 1468 goals in total games, including friendlies.
However, stats expert Alexis Martín-Tamayo, better known as Mister Chip, has pointed out that his official senior career count is 759, of which 730 have come at club level and 29 in international football between 1931 and 1955.

Ronaldo, meanwhile, has scored 658 times at club level and 102 goals for Portugal. According to official records, he netted five times for Sporting, 118 times for Manchester United, 450 times for Real Madrid and 84 times for Juventus.
