The Frenchman finished in third spot in the 2013 voting for the FIFA Ballon d'Or with 23.36% of the votes from national team captains and coaches, and journalists, behind Lionel Messi, with 24.72%, and Ronaldo, with 27.99%.
The latter lifted the 2013 Golden Ball despite failing to win any trophies with Los Blancos that year, while Ribery was part of the Bayern Munich squad that won the club's first treble ever as well as the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
"The Ballon d'Or was difficult. It was incomprehensible," the France star told Canal Football Club, as quoted by AS.
"I won all the trophies. I could not do any more. For me, it's like a theft, an injustice. I did not have my whole country behind me. I saw with my own eyes the French people who said it was for Cristiano.
"Did the Portuguese want Ribery or Messi to win? Impossible. Ditto for Argentina."
Ronaldo has since won the award in 2014, 2016 and 2017, while Messi claimed it in 2015.
