EPL Giants 'Choose' PSG Superstar Over Ronaldo

EPL Giants 'Choose' PSG Superstar Over Ronaldo

A Premier League giant has reportedly decided to sign a Paris Saint-Germain superstar instead of Cristiano Ronaldo in the upcoming transfer window.

Newcastle United are on the verge of the qualifying for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in 21 years, and the club's ownership, the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF), reportedly wants to commemorate the occasion by making a massive splash in the upcoming transfer market.

According to 90min, a move for Ronaldo has been mooted as the PIF have close ties to the Portuguese's current team Al Nassr, but the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is not considered a natural fit for Eddie Howe's side and, because the Saudi owners refuse to impose any signing on to their manager, they have now shifted their attention to a PSG talisman.

Instead of Ronaldo, it is claimed the Magpies want to bring Neymar to the club.

The Geordies are in the market for a winger and see the 31-year-old as someone who could help the side thrive on the pitch as well as commercially.

Newcastle already have a revered Brazilian contingent in its ranks in Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes, and see the Mogi das Cruzes native as an attacker who can be integrated seamlessly into the squad.

The same report claims that PSG want to fix the broken culture at the Parc des Princes and are open to selling their club-record signing.

The Brazilian and his good friend Lionel Messi have been the subjects of much fan hostility in Paris in recent days, and the end of the season could see them both leave Les Parisiens.

PSG are believed to be looking to sell Brazil's all-time top goalscorer for at least £75 million (R1.7 billion), and given Newcastle's likely UCL qualification as well as their wealthy new ownership, that figure should not be a stumbling block for the four-time English champions.
